Job Description

IT Manager£40,000 - £60,000 DOE and also if perm or contract We are looking for a suitably experienced person for the role of IT Manager with our client in East Kilbride. This could be either a permanent or contract role, and applicants must have ITIL 4 accreditation at a minimum of foundation.Purpose of role:Using ITIL based methodology you will collaborate with Service Suppliers and Operational teams to ensure service delivery to agreed performance targets in a cost effective, efficient and timely manner. You will work to support a range of IT services andtechnologies which vary in scale, age and criticality. The systems are integral to the company`s management of critical data and operational efficiency. You will work in a fast-paced working environment, responding to change and delivering an excellent serviceto internal stakeholders.Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and reporting of service metrics that define expected service quality and performance.
  • Take overall responsibility for IT systems, IT processes and IT managed service providers to ensure the company are using available state of the art technology to maximise security, productivity and quality.
  • Managing the IT team and managed service provider to ensure:
o That adequate documentation of processes is available for other support staff members to cover during all periods of absence.o Network maintenance checks including capacity monitoring are conducted.o Penetration testing is conducted.o Disaster Recovery testing is conducted.o IT Change management is recorded and controlled.o Network Support and security.o Ensure work meets specifications and quality objectives.
  • Take overall responsibility for the Integrated Management System ensuring it is actively used to enhance overall efficiency and performance of the business
  • Ensuring that team training needs are identified.
  • Oversight of service level agreements and support tickets.
  • Ownership of IT related risks
  • Carry out jobs as per instruction and capability.
  • Ensure that all tasks are performed within the company’s quality guidelines.
  • Ensure the efficient running of company network, software applications and servers through management of the IT managed services contractor and internal resources.
  • Ensure in-house software is developed to quality and schedule agreed with senior management.
Knowledge, skills and experience required:
  • A strong understanding of IT Service Management, methodologies, frameworks, processes, and techniques (ITIL, Agile, Lean, DevOps etc) with particular focus on Incident, Problem and Change Service Management processes.
  • Experience in managing small scale Agile software developments.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and exert influence across a diverse range of stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Experience with utilising knowledge of technologies, solutions and tooling options across projects, portfolios, and service lifecycle to improve services and technical understanding across teams.
  • Experience in exploring, identifying and exploiting opportunities for Continual Improvement.
  • Awareness of the IT requirements of ISO27001
  • Awareness of Cyber Security Essentials
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Working knowledge of company requirements and policies for health & safety, quality, environmental & information security system and others as appropriate
