General Manager - Competitive Salary - East Kilbride, South LanarkshireThe RoleDo you have a proven track record of performing at a high level in a fast-paced customer oriented environment with full management responsibility. If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.An international packaging supplier is looking to appoint a high performing General Manager to manage, motivate and develop our sheet plant at East Kilbride. The successful candidate will establish a culture of continuous improvement while safely organisingand managing the operation to increase throughput, maximise profits, and maintain a high level of quality and service for our customers.Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of a General Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing strong clear leadership and vision within the site, evolving an operationally excellent environment which promotes continuous improvement, empowerment, motivation, participation and team working that allows employees to develop to their maximumpotential.
  • Ability to develop and maintain long-term strong customer relationships with a focus on delivery and organic growth.
  • Leading and playing an active part in driving lean/ continuous improvement activities and introduce leading edge manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Working closely with the Operations Director and other members of the Senior Team to continually develop strategies to meet and further develop the overall operational, sales, financial and commercial objectives of the business.
  • Directing line management of senior team members including performance management, absence management and reporting.
  • Ensuring the effective running of the Operations function on a day-to-day basis and the strategic development of the team and department to deliver the sites Sales and Business Plan in line with company initiatives to achieve service excellence.
  • Effectively controlling budgets for capital expenditure, manning levels, raw materials, engineering and production volume including identification of shortfalls and planned corrective actions.
