Job Description

Are you looking for a new role to embark on a fulfilling career where you can make an impact on someones life; always leave at the end of the day to with a smile on your face due to providing the best activities and entertainment you can for that day We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Nursery Assistant, with a Level 3 in Childcare, to join one of our established nurseries based in East Grinstead. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping children to grow and learn in a comfortable and safe environment. Providing support to them when they need and being able to support families as well. Your Responsibilities

  • Working with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework to promote high levels of education and care
  • Create a nurturing, happy and secure environment for children, parents, and team
  • Assist in registration upon children arrival and at collection ensuring they are returned safely to the named person
  • Plan child centred activities using the 3 Is (Intent, Implement and Impact)
  • Deliver learning experiences and activities to meet individual needs
  • Help with room preparation and clearing up, when necessary
  • Collaborate with partners, such as other schools
  • Provide and promote positive play for children, when are at nursery and ideas for when they are home
  • Promote the welfare and well-being of children and families
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with safeguarding and child protection protocols
  • Attendance of 1-2-1s and supervision on a regular basis
  • Supporting children with SEND, ensuring proper and appropriate care is provided for their learning needs
  • Accurately record notes for books and journals to ensure relevant information is up to date
  • Supporting the transition of children into mainstream school
  • Adhere to policies and procedures
  • Attend any additional training whenever required
Whats in it for you

  • Flexible working hours, between 8am-6pm
  • 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday
Requirements/experience in the following:
  • Level 3 Childcare minimum
  • GCSE Grade C & above in English & Maths
  • Working with early years children and families
  • Supervising play sessions
  • Working in team environments
  • Working in an interagency setting
  • Collating, maintaining, and monitoring information
  • Setting up a room for safe play
  • Working within confidential and data protection boundaries
  • Able to listen and provide practical strategies for parents
  • Planning and developing skills
  • Working knowledge and demonstrate an understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies, procedures, and systems
  • An understanding on the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Awareness of Health and Safety practice in a play environment
