Job Role: Floor Fitter Shift: Rota-based shift patterns Salary: up to 45K p/a pending on experience Location: West Sussex My client is a family-owned and operated flooring company They prioritize delivering exceptional service and have earned a reputation for excellence. My client offers a diverse selection of flooring options from carefully chosen UK and European manufacturers.Responsibilities:* Install and fit various types of flooring materials, including but not limited to carpets, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and tiles.* Prepare the work area by removing old flooring, ensuring proper disposal or recycling of materials whenever possible.* Perform accurate measurements and take necessary precautions to ensure a precise installation, accounting for room dimensions, irregularities, and patterns.* Handle cutting, trimming, and shaping of flooring materials to fit within the designated space.* Carry out subfloor preparation, such as levelling, cleaning, and repairing, to create a suitable base for the new flooring.* Utilize appropriate tools and techniques to install flooring, ensuring a seamless and professional finish.* Inspect the completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and addresses customer requirements.* Safeguard customer property during the installation process and minimize disruption to their daily activities.* Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly handled and stored.* Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries during the installation process.Required Experience:* Proven experience as a floor fitter or installer, with a strong track record of successful flooring installations.* Comprehensive knowledge of different flooring materials, their characteristics, and installation techniques.* Proficient in accurately measuring and calculating materials required for installations.* Skilful in using a variety of tools and equipment relevant to flooring installation.* Ability to interpret floor plans, specifications, and instructions to ensure accurate and efficient installations.* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different installation challenges.* Effective time management and organizational abilities to complete projects within given deadlines.* Good communication skills to liaise with customers, providing guidance and advice on flooring options.* A commitment to maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach throughout the installation process.Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
