Job Description

ROLE: Manufacturing Engineer LOCATION: CorbyHOURS OF WORK: DaysBASIC SALARY: £35KCompany ProfileOur client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their organisation based in Corby on a permanent basis. The Manufacturing Engineer has technical responsibility for the assigned manufacturing processes and is responsible to develop, document and maintainoptimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes. You will technically troubleshoot processes and investigate variances and implement permanent corrective actions. You will envision and implement continuous improvement of your processes. In addition, the ManufacturingEngineer will coordinate the manufacturing launch of new or revised products and processes as well as capital equipment projects, and interface with internal and external customers as well as other Engineering staff as needed.In this Manufacturing Engineer role, you will be responsible for:

  • Have technical ownership of assigned processes: equipment, processes, procedures and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain high quality, cost-effective manufacturing processes, which are well documented.
  • Actively investigate technical process and product variances and drive corrective actions to eliminate them.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvements to surpass quality, cost and throughput goals.
  • Research, recommend, document, manage and qualify the purchase, installation and implementation of capital equipment projects.
  • Manage the manufacturing launch of new/revised products and processes, including establishing goals, developing processes and procedures, training team members and evaluating results.
  • Promote Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health compliance into processes and procedures.
  • Develop technical training material to educate employees to effectively execute the manufacturing process.
  • Plan and document projects and actions
  • Represent manufacturing on various cross-functional teams.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
To be successful as a Manufacturing Engineer you must:
  • BSME (Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering) / HNC/HND (Europe) or significant equivalent experience with at least three years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD as well as office automation software and systems.
  • The ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
