Job Description

Transport Manager – Builders MerchantsWe are on the lookout for an experienced Transport Manager who has some experience within the construction or builder merchants industry ideally to work a leading business based at their headquarters in Hanwell, Ealing with travel round to their multiple branches across London and the South East.As Transport Manager the successful candidate will have multiple duties within the role. A big part of the position is looking after Transport Compliance, which is ensuring company compliance is being met per the Traffic Commissioners instructions along with being required to be the named Transport Manager on the company’s operating licences.Other aspects of the role include depot visits to the company’s multiple sites along with ensuring all company equipment is complying with regulated standards and any defects are being resolved. A large part of the role will include looking after company drivers and ensuring wages slips are being approved and completed correctly.Responsibilities / Skills required:

  • Ensuring company compliance is met as per the Traffic Commissioner’s instructions
  • You may be required to be the named Transport Manager on the Company’s operating licences
  • Visit individual depots on a regular basis as per the Company’s schedule
  • Ensure vehicle defecting is reported correctly and rectified in the correct manner
  • Invoice approval and purchasing
  • Tachograph Analysis
  • Collecting drivers’ timesheets for approval by management as per company guidelines
  • Other ad hoc duties as and when required.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
