Job Description

Daytime Healthcare are working with a great National Childrens Residential Organisation who are looking for a Childrens Practitioner to join there team!Sleep-ins, 2 per week, paid at £50 each so the potential to earn more.

  • Starting Salary £25,738 plus sleep-ins (potential to earn up to £30,538 per annum)
  • Shifts: 08:00 - 16:00 & 15:00- 23:00 with an average of 2 sleep-in shifts per week until 7am, including weekends and bank holidays (bank holidays paid time and half)
  • 2 weekends off per month and an average of 40 hours per week.
  • Option to do overtime paid time and half
As an Experienced Childrens Residential Practitioner, you will responsible for:Provide direct support and care for young people aged 12 to 17 years.Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the young people living in the home by adhering to and updating their risk assessment as well as taking practical steps to ensure their safety. This includes identifying, recording and reporting any risk of harmor child protection concerns in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.Working within a therapeutic framework, you will develop a direct programme of work aimed at building life skills, develop a restorative learning approach to behaviour and manage their own safety within the community.Ideal Candidate:Desirable Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (i.e. Level 3 Diploma Children and Young People Workforce with the childrens social care pathway).Minimum of 1 years’ experience working and supporting Young People to achieve their full potential.Ability to build and promote trusted relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.Experience of achieving outcomes as part of working in a service and the records which evidence that.A working knowledge of key legislation regarding Safeguarding practices relating to children and young peopleUnderstanding of the issues experienced by young people and how these impact on behaviour.Creativity, enthusiasm and energy to inspire and encourage young people to achieve great things.Benefits:Tailored career development plan.A friendly working environment, a fun, open and honest culture.25 days holiday rising to 27 days after 3 years’ service, plus Bank Holidays, pro-rata.Industry Leading training programme including access to level 3 qualifications, children’s right and participation, CSE, empowerment, Mental health and therapeutic interventions.BUPA Employee Assistance Programme, offering counselling, financial advice and legal support.Interest-free season ticket loan.Employee Awards based on performance and length of service.Apply today to secure a interview!
