Job Description

The Role: Operations ManagerSector: Contract Logistics/Supply Chain/LogisticsLocation: DuttonPay: c£27.00 per hourDuration: 6 months (potentially extended/perm)The Role:The Operations Manager will need to demonstrate not only their understanding of, and experience within a contract logistics/supply chain/distribution environment, but their ability to act as a link between a separate contract storage and distribution function, the transport function and the end customer.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to deliver the following:

Establishing effective management control of warehousing and distribution processes.

Implementing the process required to effectively facilitate the transition from receiving the customers requirement, receiving the inbound product from 3 different providers, to requesting the rapid pick, pack from the warehouse team and the dispatch via the logistics providers.

Keep reviewing and improving the new systems and processes once implemented.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Senior management experience within warehousing, logistics, distribution & supply chain

Extensive experience in planning, supplier management, operations and inventory management

QSHE/Health & Safety experience, implementation, compliance and reporting

Fast paced warehousing management experience

Good IT skills, including Microsoft office – Word/Excel/Outlook

You will have a common sense approach and be able to build the operation centre from scratch

The Company:We have recently started collaborating with one of most successful leading global logistics companies in the market. They have recently won a new contract and the need has arisen for an Operations Centre to support the Warehouse function.The contract is essentially a storage and distribution business, and the Operations team will support the supply chain process, as the key conduit between the warehouse, the transport team and the customer for whom the product is being distributed.Benefits:
