The People Of: Ecommerce is partnered with a multi-million-pound global retailer based in the North of England to recruit a number of ecommerce & digital marketing roles. This first position is to appoint a Web Merchandiser to lead on trading and merchandisingtheir online categories.*Please note, this position offers and benefits from a high degree of flexible & hybrid working however occasional presence in the Durham head office in the North of England will be required (approximately once every two weeks) therefore London applicants willnot be considered for this post).As Web Merchandiser, you will be responsible for really owning and trading the range via online sales channels with the goal to increase D2C sales.Benefits:• Top retailer and brand in the region with huge growth plans • Own the Online merchandising for a particular region • High degree of flexibility & hybrid working (circa 1 day every two weeks in the office)Key Responsibilities:As Web Merchandiser, you will be responsible for:• Commercial responsibility of the web merchandising of selected categories ensuring strong performance• delivering the merchandising strategy for select categories using a range of techniques, including image optimisation, ranking, filter optimisation, navigation, taxonomy and categorisation optimisation, search and product recommendations• Using data & insight to drive decision making to support category performance, including detailed understanding of funnel metrics and onsite behaviour• Reporting back in daily huddles on funnel metrics for categories, and identifying ways to improve performance• Resolving on-site issues and speed bumps which are impacting performance within your areas • Working with the digital marketing team to support AB Testing of key onsite elements and pagesSkills and Experience:As Web Merchandiser, you will have:• At least 3 years working in an Online Merchandising/Ecommerce merchandising/ web merchandising, Ecommerce Trading or similar role• Detailed understanding of ecommerce, with hands-on experience of merchandising, customer journeys, online marketing and web analytics.• Ideally experience working across the UK, US and EU territories.• Commercially minded - paying close attention to sales reports and metrics • Be data and analytical minded, able to understand reports and create forecastsThis Web merchandiser position benefits from a high degree of flexibility and hybrid working.
