Job Description

This is a superb opportunity for a recent Graduate (with a business, marketing or English related degree) to join a privately owned, award winning construction business as they strengthen their Bids Team.CompanyEstablished over twenty-five years ago, this is an ambitious, evolving, growing yet carefully managed privately owned business - one of the largest in the region.The company has a multi-discipline offering to its client base on account of how it has developed and grown over the years and continues to win an enviable portfolio of work in the region. The RoleThis appointment will be within the Business Development and Bids Team, the successful applicant will be a Trainee Bid Writer and will work within the team responsible for winning new business. This includes:

  • Working with Proposals Team on PQQ and tender documentation to produce high quality submissions;
  • Liaising with colleagues to collate and write up case study information regarding existing clients and method statements for PQQ and tender submissions;
  • Writing answers to PQQ and Tender questions for core business activities such as H&S, Quality, Training etc.;
  • Establishing close working relationship with internal departments such as operations, health and safety, quality, business development to facilitate transfer of knowledge into successful bids;
  • Completion of supplier questionnaires for submission to potential clients;
  • Regular review of submissions library/model answers to ensure best practice is implemented on bids;
  • Maintenance of Contract Database;
  • Updating of Submissions Library and model answers;
  • Managing the download of tenders/PQQ’s from various tender portals;
  • Managing formatting of documentation for inclusion in bids using: Excel, Word (Headers & Footers), Powerpoint and Adobe;
  • Managing logging PQQ/tenders and chasing up outcome of submissions;
  • Coordination of Q&A process during bidding stage;
The team is based in an attractive modern office in Durham and the hours offered are hybrid with two days worked from home (or all five in the office if preferred). Experience RequiredApplications are welcome from astute recent Graduates who can demonstrate an appetite for work and a desire to be part of something where everyone gives their all.
