After 3 years service, an additional days holiday for each year of service up to a maximum of 25 days.Membership of the Companys pension scheme.Death-in-service life assurance.Reimbursement of annual membership fee of up to two relevant professional bodies of which candidate is a member.Office hours: nominal 37-hour week based upon the following attendance arrangements:Monday to Thursday inclusive 07:45 am to 16:15 pm & Friday 07:45 am to 12: 45 pmTHE BUSINESSWestray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer for our client based in DarlingtonThe Companys principal focus is the design, manufacture and operation of specialist equipment and temporary works for the construction of bridges, buildings, offshore structures, refineries, power stations and industrial plants.Working within a team of engineers and CAD technicians, carrying out conceptual and detailed design of permanent and temporary structures and equipment, particularly related to construction engineering of bridges, tower systems and complex structures. Attendanceon site when required to assist in heavy lifting and moving operations.THE ROLEConceptual and detailed design of permanent and temporary structures, particularly in steel.Erection engineering including preparation of method statements.Design and specification of specialist equipment, particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projects.Static analyses of structures using structural analysis (FEA) computer programs.Preparation of detailed calculations using Excel (preferred) or by hand.Preparation of sketches and drawings using AutoCAD or by hand.Liaison with CAD team.Development of standard spreadsheet solutions suitable for use with Excel.Assist in the management of the design office and lead other members of the team.Attendance on site when required to assist in heavy lifting and moving operations.THE PERSONChartered engineer, or in final stages of achieving chartered status (MICE or MIStructE)5 to 10 years post graduate experienceExperience in analysis and design of structures, particularly in steelExperience in the use of finite element analysis computer programsGood general IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, E-mail systems)Good presentation and communications skillsRelevant site experienceGood working knowledge of Eurocodes, particularly EN 1993Positive and effective team playerInnovative and dynamicPreferable:Experience in design of temporary works, particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projectsExperience in the design of hydraulic equipmentExperience in the use of computer drafting programs (AutoCAD)THE PACKAGERemuneration: Circa £40k, plus £7k car allowance per annumHoliday entitlement: 23 days per annum (plus usual public holidays).
