Job Description

WHAT COMPANY YOU WILL BE WORKING FORWestray Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Saws Op to work a permanent back shift for our client located in Durham. Due to the company location it will prove advantageous for candidates to hold their own transport.This is an amazing opportunity for the successful candidate to join a high-volume manufacturing organisation who is transitioning into becoming a world class manufacturer. Over the past decade the business has quadrupled their production capacity.The finishing area uses stand-alone saws to cut the pieces for a specific purpose. The facility also uses a kiln area to heat packs using a biomass boiler. Cut product is then put into the kiln to dry it before it is further processed. This role involves working inside and outside in all types of weather.WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Manual use of cross cut, round top saw, spindle moulder, band saw, Stegherr, Bundling and Holtec
  • Ensuring documented pre-start checks are undertaken in accordance with instructions
  • Set sizes accurately according to cutting instructions
  • Setting machine speed (band saw and spindle moulder only) to the optimum setting for the product being cut
  • Setting machine guides (Bandsaw only) to the correct height for the product being cut
  • Setting blades to the correct tension and fit correctly to cutter bar (Holtec only)
  • Ensuring all inbound and outbound packs are the correct quantity for customer requirements and recorded in Navision
  • Loading and unloading products from machines
  • Ensure timely communication with the department loader to ensure minimum gaps between packs
  • Accurately complete paperwork for downtime data
    • WHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
  • Experienced at following verbal and written process
  • Computer literate with accurate data inputting skills
  • Proven ability to working with production machinery
    • WHAT ARE THE FINER DETAILS OF YOUR ROLEThis role centres on permanent backshift hours 3pm-midnight Monday to Thursday and Friday 11am-4pm.
