Durham University is looking to appoint 2 Payroll Administrators to their HR Department on a temp to perm basis. Initially for 3 months, but looking to be made permanent thereafter, the successful post holders will report to the Payroll Manager & PayrollTeam Leader of HROD. The purpose of the roles will be to provide administrative support for HR and Payroll activities. The post holders will be responsible for accurately processing payroll changes, using a number of systems, ensuring that all activities arecompleted within the necessary timeframe and in accordance with policy, and that complete and up-to-date records are maintained in accordance with legislation.The HR&OD team have introduced a hybrid model of working where there is a requirement to work at least 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday and Wednesday), with the other 3 at home.Essential Criteria:1. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to develop excellent working relationships both internally and externally2. Experience of working in a team3. Ability to solve problems as part of a team4. Experience of working on the front line with service delivery, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising on quality5. Demonstrable ability to provide advice and guidance to a range of customers and colleagues6. Demonstrable effective time management, workload organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities7. Proven IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office8. Knowledge of relevant legislative and statutory regulations9. Experience and understanding of payroll related compliance10. Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems11. Good communications skills, work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.Desirable Criteria:1. The candidate would ideally have knowledge of Oracle Fusion or a similar cloud-based Payroll system2. Experience of working in an organisation that has multiple contract types and both hourly paid and salaried staff3.
