Job Description

The Company:Nigel Wright is pleased to be supporting a high-volume manufacturer operating within a fast paced and customer centric environment. They are seeking a Materials Manager on a temporary basis to support their teamThe Role: Oversee analysis of customer schedules to identify demand and potential constraints. Strategically manage the coordination of material supply into the plant in order to support manufacturing build. Oversee the storage and supply of materials within the plant to support the facilitation of daily production and maintain housekeeping standards. Ensure the integrity of BOM data Ensure stock accuracy Facilitate the timing of engineering level change to ensure maximum traceability and minimum stock loss. Ensure that suppliers are managed and developed to meet the requirements of the products and service in order to ensure the most effective ongoing service is provided with existing and new product information. On a daily basis, communicate with the Operations team in order to inform them of current quality concerns, goals and targets. This is to ensure a multifunctional team approach in relation to problem resolution and continuous improvement. Work with the Engineering department/Program Management on the introduction of the new model and product changes, with the use of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure all logistics aspects considered and metThe Person:

  • Experience of scheduling, planning, shift co-ordination for materials handlers, customer liaison and supervision of team.
  • Computer literacy (word, excel, powerpoint) WMS, MRP / ERP systems such as BPCS, SAP Oracle.
  • Educated to a minimum HND level or equivalent in a logistics discipline (preferred).
  • Experience in a similar role preferably within automotive
