Job Description

Catch 22 are working with a leading global student accommodation provider who are seeking technical assistance with the management of facilities at Universities in Durham.This is a contract role ideal for someone with facilities experience looking for a short term opportunity to utilise their skills carrying out fabric maintenance and electrical repairs.Role responsibilities;

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks, which include but are not limited, electrical, Joinery, locks, building fabric repairs, plumbing, window and doors.
  • Carry out regular planned preventative maintenance, which include but are not limited to; Fire systems, Electrical systems, Plant rooms systems, Asset compliance and condition inspections
  • To support the in-house maintenance team and provide training and guidance to team members
  • Carry out regular inspections of resident apartments and complete inspection checklist
  • Manage external contractors including site inductions and permits to work to contractors
  • Complete regular Health and Safety checks and rectify problems as required Assist university teams on open days
  • Perform any other duties consistent with the nature and responsibilities of the position.
Ideal Candidate Experience;
  • Electrical fault finding and maintenance experience, ideally holding 18th Edition and NVQ Level 2 (Preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to carry out a wide range of general building services
  • Knowledge of supervising a small team of facilities staff or contractors would be an advantage but not essential
  • A naturally curious hands on individual who is happy to interact and engage with residents, colleagues and university partners
  • Someone with a positive attitude and a passion for providing excellent service
  • The ability to use your own initiative to problem solve
  • Be a team player and support the college team
  • Knowledge of using of computer database systems
  • Satisfactory DBS check (Essential)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
Role Benefits:
  • 40 hours per week - 5 days out of 7 days, between 8am and 8pm including bank holidays)
  • £30,000 based on annual salary
  • Contract or Temporary role - Between 3-6 month (Preferred contract length can be discussed)
