Job Description

CUSTOMER ANALYST£45,000 - £55,000DURHAM (hybrid)An opportunity to work in a high-growth retail company, using deep-dive analytics to understand the customer base, explore marketing channels for where the companys customers are coming from, and how to ensure the most appropriate customer contact strategiesthrough various channels.THE COMPANYThis is a leading retailer, both B2B and B2C, specialised in various products for the UK and the US. With a data transformationpending to ensure the company is in the best data place possible, this is a great chance to get stuck in and have your say.THE ROLEIn this role, you will be the first person into this space, so you need to be an experienced Customer Analyst! You will report to the BI & Analytics Lead, as well as work closely with the Head of BI & Data Engineering. Your focus will be across core customerinsight and marketing analytics, so you can expect to:

  • Use SQL to query data, conducting deep-dive analysis into marketing campaigns and their success, as well as provide actionable insights on acquisition, retention, most successful channels, etc.
  • Analyse customer behaviour, segmenting the customer database to allow for in-depth customer profiling and personalised marketing through the most appropriate contact strategies
  • Communicate key insights and findings to different levels of the business, be they technical or non-technical
  • Represent the customer to the board so they can best understand business problems and what your solutions mean
YOUR SKILLSThe successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience in a similar customer insight/marketing analytics role to hit the ground running with your skills and knowledge on key projects
  • Excellent SQL skills for querying and coding large data sets, being analytically minded and a passion for data-led decisions
  • Great communicator, able to convey complicated technical terms in digestible language
  • A can-do, proactive attitude for working with others in the business and delving into data to problem-solve and come up with solutions
  • Preferably skills/experience with a BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and a CRM tool (Marketo, Salesforce, etc.)
