Job Description

Financial Controller - DurhamYour new role:An excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller has arisen to join a family business based in Durham who are an established manufacturing business. This role will be responsible for preparing financial forecasts, performing departmental audits,analysing companies financial performance and providing key insights to aid in managerial decision-making within the business.Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate and achievable financial targets.
  • Conduct regular analysis of financial data, including revenue, expenses and overheads to identify areas of improvement, cost-saving opportunities and pricing strategies.
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards and presentations for management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to support strategic decision making.
  • Monitoring and analysing actual financial results against budgeted figures, investigating and explaining any significant deviations and recommending corrective actions if necessary.
  • Collaborate with management teams to develop financial plans, strategies, and long term business projections.
  • Ensuring adherence to financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies, and participate in internal and external audits as required.
You will be/have:
  • ACA/ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Proven experience within management accounts.
  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques and cost accounting methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
