Job Description

Adecco Sunderland is working with global client based close to Durham who are looking for a Electronic Instruments Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.Our client offers an extremely generous salary which is dependent on experience, this role offers ambitions and motivating challenges. This is a regular working pattern of Monday to Friday with flexible working as they require 2 days on site and 3 days remoteworking.Our client also offers:

Purpose:As an Electronic Instruments Engineer, youll be part of our Hand Tools, Accessories, and Storage (HTAS) team.Responsibilities
  • Develop new electromechanical designs and subsequently build physical prototypes to support product development
  • Collaborate with cross functional groups such as manufacturing, test, firmware, CAE, sourcing, and marketing
  • Contribute to FMEA (dont add this: failure modes and effects analysis) sessions, design reviews, and product teardowns
  • Conduct root cause analysis and establish corrective action plans
  • Create and maintain product lifecycle documentation
  • Develop and execute test plans to qualify new product and components
  • Integrate the needs of end users, manufacturing, and product service
Requirements
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 1-3 years of related experience in product design or manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards, injection molded parts, sheet metal, and machined components
  • Working knowledge 3D CAD design (CATIA V5 preferred)
  • Working knowledge of tolerance stack ups, and GD&T
  • Desired: Understanding of lasers, lighting, and optics
  • Familiar with electronic test equipment, oscilloscopes, and various sensors
  • Ability to think creatively to develop ideas that can be protected by patents
  • Quick study - able to gain a fact-based understanding of current product market and understand end users
  • Good communication skills: strong interpersonal skills, able to explain technical analysis to cross functional team
  • Strong analytical skills to review data and generate recommendations
  • Willingness to challenge "conventional" thinking, independent
  • Good planning and project management skills, self-starter
  • Position may require up to 10% international travel, once restrictions are lifted)
