Job Description

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a school based in Bedale who are looking to appoint a full time Teaching Assistant January 2021.The school caters for pupils with SEMH Difficulties, Autism, ADHD, ODD and challenging behaviours, those who can no longer remain in mainstream education.The pupils often struggle to access the curriculum and often struggle to engage in education.The role will require you to support the delivery of a range of subjects - functional skills and English, but you will need to be confident in your work to keep pupils engaged.To be considered for theBehaviour Support Assistantposition:

  • Previous exposure supporting the learning of primary students with challenging behaviour
  • Be confident supporting pupils aged 4 - 11
  • Hold previous experience supporting pupils who display challenging behaviour
  • Be able to build positive working relationships with pupils
  • Team Teach, Approach or any other form of restraint/physical intervention/de-escalation training is highly desirable
  • Full time Behaviour Support Assistant – Start April 2021
  • Working hours (8am – 3.15pm)
