Job descriptionRole: 2nd line Field EngineerSalary: Competitive - PermanentLocation: North EastAbout UsAn opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic MSP team in the North East.About the RoleWe are looking for a IT Field Service Engineer to carry out and support the on-site installations for our diverse portfolio. The ideal candidate will be happy to muck in and get their hands dirty on sites whilst holding the technical knowledge to fix on-siteIT faults.The Field Engineer role is very multi-disciplined and will encompass assembly, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of bespoke networking equipment as well as elements of cabling and Unifi.About YouYou will need some experience in computers and networking, preferably from a support perspective in construction. Candidates dont need to be total geeks or seasoned builders, but it is important to have some experience working with technology, constructionor any related disciplines.As you will be client-facing, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present yourself well are important. Youll often be required to use initiative, exercise good judgment and display excellent time-management skills. Travel will play a significantpart in this role, applicants should expect to be out of the office for 90% of their time.No formal qualifications are required, but basic numeracy and literacy competency is expected. In addition, thecandidate MUST hold a full UK driving license. Any IT accreditation such as any entry-level certifications including A+/Net+, LPIC, CCT or MCT, being a CSCS cardholder would also be desirable,The following skills would be beneficial:
