Job Description

Site Agent6 month contract£400450 per day (inside of IR35)Located in Newport, South WalesMy client is looking for an experience Agent to join the site team located in Newport on a 6 month contract with possibility of extension. This is a great opportunity for long-term contract working with a Tier 1 contractor.RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Check drawings and quantities
  • Schedule selected materials for ordering from the procurement department
  • Day to day management of a section of works including the supervision and monitoring of the site team and supply chain
  • Manage multiple packages of work in conjunction with the commercial team taking full ownership of the costs for section of work assigned
  • Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Permit to Work systems, site inductions and safety briefings are correctly carried out
  • Plan the work and efficiently organise site operations in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines
  • Liaise with any consultants and sub-contracts engaged in the project as necessary
  • Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to
  • Ensure quality records necessary to meet quality requirements are maintained
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
  • Undertake the testing and calibration of instruments used
  • Liaise with other function/departmental managers
  • Attend external meetings as required with clients and stakeholders, building effective relationships
  • Report to the Project Manager on progress and performance
  • Introduce improvements and innovation where appropriate to areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrable experience on design and build projects
  • Liaising at an appropriate level with clients, stakeholders and other technical disciplines to deliver innovative, value-for-money designs and solutions within time and cost constraints
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Site supervision and reporting.
  • Water based experience (including clean water mains) is beneficial
  • Experience in previous Agent (supervising) based roles
  • Business excavation plans experience
  • Dealing with upfront projects
  • Pre-contract management activities
  • Beneficial for highways, nuclear, energy, water and/or rail experience
  • Strong knowledge and working experience with earthworks
  • Proven track record with five plus years experience and worked within similar position
  • Quality Assurance
  • Previously managed site teams & packages of work
  • Ensure compliance with designs
  • Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent)
  • Able to produce and explain accurate plans and drawings
  • Previously worked main contractor experience
  • Have a CSCS qualification specific to the works will be undertaking
  • Health and Safety Compliance
  • Good team-working skills, particularly in relation to the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Good communication skills at all levels
