Job Description

Site Assistant / Co-ordinator.DudleySalary: £28,000.00 - £35,000.00 (based on experience)Midlands based Steel Erection company that started manufacturing steelwork for small projects, which has now progressed into long term contracts for larger installations, have now transgressed into the open market, supplying all types and sizes of structuresfor the agricultural, commercial, industrial, leisure and local authority sectors.Responsibilities:

  • All on-hires / off-hires of machines as instructed by site managers. All on-hire / off-hires of cranes as instructed by site managers.
  • All on-hire / off-hires of small equipment as instructed by site managers.
  • Keep record of all on hires and off hires to effectively check invoices.
  • Deal with machine breakdowns - organise repairs from hire companies etc.
  • Look after machine/crane breakdown charges.
  • Finish off all RAMS and distribute to correct site managers.
  • Order all site bolts/HD Bolts/Phase bolts.
  • Order and distribute all PPE and Lifting gear.
  • Ensure all test certs & H+S paperwork is in place before starting on site.
  • Arrange all other labour on site - D-drill, netters etc.
  • Maintain site training records - reapply for CSCS/CPCS cards as necessary.
  • Record all purchases as well as hires.
  • Check off all invoices from above mentioned records.
  • Chase credits where required.
  • Arrange accommodation for erectors as necessary.
  • Organise all material deliveries; ensure people know when they will be going to site & that appropriate plant will be there to offload it.
  • Keep site planner up to date.
  • Look after general day to day things- guys, drawings, missing items, site requirements etc
  • Weekly trackers - Timesheets
A bit about you and your experience:Experience from site working to IT led office skills - the more experience you have the betterIdeally, we are looking for is someone who has had experience out on site or in a similar construction role, that now wants to work in the office in more of a project coordinator role, with the chance of progression to a project manager.You will need to have relatively strong IT skills, as the administrative part of the role would still need to be done, however, due to the fact they would have site experience, they would be able to be more involved with the actual running of the projects,not just doing paperwork as instructed. They could also attend sites/site meetings along with our current site managers to gain more experience within the industry, with the view of also becoming a site manager.
