Job Description

Process Engineer - £30,000-£35,000The companyA Global manufacturing company based in Dudley who specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke automation solutions for a variety of industries including automotive, Defense, aerospace are looking for a Process Engineer.The roleA Process Engineer is now required to join the team in Dudley, Day shift 7.15am - 4.00pm (Monday-Thursday) 7.15am - 12pm (Friday).You will take responsibility for:

  • Evaluate potential applications for friction welding and conduct research and development of innovative processes.
  • Develop concepts and design tooling.
  • Make recommendations to engineering or customers for component redesign to improve designs for friction welding.
  • Prepare comprehensive proposals and quotations for feasibility, development, sample, and production welding projects.
  • Evaluate quality and apply problem-solving methods to modify weld process parameters, part design, or materials to achieve desired results
What you needIt is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, both for complex and clear issues.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and equation manipulation.
  • Effective prioritisation skills to handle a heavy workload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
  • Experience with problem-solving methodologies and design/manufacturing robustness (e.g., 8-D, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of metallurgical sampling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with machining environments, equipment, and processes.
  • Conflict resolution facilitation skills.
  • Previous involvement in Research & Development or process development
  • CNC Machining (Ideally Hurco Lathe machine)
  • Tooling background
What is on offerYou can join a global manufacturing company who offer exceptional training including initial with American counterparts for 2-4 weeks in their USA HQ for the successful candidate. Also, you will be expected to travel to potential client sites based around Europe once or twice a year once up and running. Clear career progression with a 3-year plan in place.
