Job Description

Interaction Recruitment are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for our client in DudleyThe roleYou will be part of a 2-man team working a 3-shift rota. On your team will be an Electrician and yourself the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. You will be tasked to carry out preventative maintenance tasks as well as be reactive with regard plant breakdownsand repairs.You will also be required to carry out Installation work on machinery and within the factory.All actions need to be carried out in a safe and professional manor, reporting to supervisors, and filling out daily shift reports and other necessary paperwork.General Scope of work

  1. Work on Hydraulic systems
  2. Work on Pneumatic systems
  3. General welding and fabrication
  4. Oxygen/acetylene burning.
  5. Bench fitting
  6. Forklift/cherry picker/OHC operation
However as per the nature of the business, other general maintenance task wills be required.Experience/Qualifications RequiredCompleted Apprenticeship/time served would be preferred. NVQ level 3 or City and Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance or any other relevant qualification. We will need to see proof of certification.Heavy Industrial work. Experience of Slitting/Decoiling machines would be an advantage.Driving licence preferred but not essential.Rates of payWeekly PaidMidweek Basic Rate - £14.93phOvertime during the week @ Rate 2 (£17.92ph)Saturday overtime @ Rate 4 (£22.40ph)Sunday and Bank holidays @ Rate 3 (£29.86ph)Basic hours equates to circa £33.5k + overtime.Current working patterns (Based on 40 hours).Week1:6am-2pm Mon-Fri @ Rate 1Week 2:8pm-6am Mon-Thurs @ Rate 2 + £1 /p/h antisocial allowance.Week 3:1pm-9pm Mon-Thurs, and 10am-6pm Fri @ Rate 1Hours & Shift Pattern subject to change. As we are a 24 hour production site, maintenance cover is required at all times. Overtime will be required to cover holiday’s and/or absence, so flexibility on shift hours is essential to suit the business demandand changes to business needs.Weekend working – A minimum of 1 Saturday in 3 required following the 6-2 shift as well as holiday cover and/or emergency breakdown cover as and when required. Additional overtime will be required to suit business needs.Holiday Entitlement/Other33 days holidayFixed Shutdown Periods are pre-planned during Whitsun, Summer & Christmas. Whitsun & Summer are for Maintenance Activities whereby all Engineers are required to work.This position comes with the following benefits: -
  • Automatic enrolment into our Group Pension Scheme, which currently has an employee and employer contribution of 3%. This is under review as discussed.
  • After 3 months service you will be entitled to death in service cover of 1X annual earnings
  • After 3 months service you will also be entitled to membership of simply health, our health care cash plan scheme, at no cost to you.
