Job Description

A leading manufacturer of capital equipment is now seeking a Design Engineer to join their growing team. They provide automation and welding solutions to the Aerospace, Automotive and Oil & Gas and Construction industries.Reporting to the Design Manager, you will design full solutions from scratch as well as scope changes to an existing product range. You will join an existing team of Design Engineers and will be liaising with internal and external stakeholders to createindustry leading solutions in a highly competitive market.Mechanical Design Engineer duties include:

  • Create, draw and contribute concept ideas for new products and existing products.
  • Detail drawings and BOMs management.
  • Prototype manufacture and testing.
  • Standard drawings control - issuing new drawings and controlling changes to current standard drawings.
  • Site visits when required.
  • UK and European travel may be required.
  • Tooling design.
To be successful in the role of Mechanical Design Engineer, the ideal Candidate will:
  • Possess excellent attention to detail due to short manufacturing lead times.
  • Enjoy working in a busy exciting environment.
  • Produced drawings in Solidworks or similar.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Resistance welder design - Desirable
  • Friction welder design - Desirable
Benefits:
  • Base Salary: £40,000 to £45,000
  • 25 holiday.
  • Early finish Friday.
  • Free onsite parking.
