Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, youll play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of both machinery and at times, facilities.The company:Our client is a leading player in the global steel industry, with a diverse product portfolio that encompasses carbon steel flats, tubes, stainless steel, cold-drawn bars, and heavy plates. Their commitment to quality and innovation extends beyond manufacturing,JOB SCOPE AND AIMS:Key duties revolve around installation of mechanical and electrical components on machines and offices. Maintenance of machines as well as troubleshooting and repairs whenever there is a breakdown.Scheduled Maintenance:

Regularly schedule and perform maintenance on all equipment, components, and installations.
Ensure they remain in optimal working condition to prevent disruptions.

Prompt Response and Resolution:

Swiftly address breakdowns by providing a prompt response to inquiries.
Resolve issues as quickly as possible to minimize downtime.

Equipment Management:

Maintain equipment to keep it in good working order.
Prevent disruptions to activities by ensuring everything functions properly.

Installation and Replacement:

Install new mechanical and electrical components as needed.
Recommend replacements for old or faulty parts to management.

Energy Efficiency and Safety:

Perform energy audits and suggest alternative energy sources.
Help the organization reduce energy costs while ensuring safety.
Ensure all mechanical/electrical devices are switched off after work.

Supervision and Resource Management:

Supervise maintenance work during new projects.
Support contractors on-site.
Assist in resource management to enhance company profitability.

Health and Safety Adherence:

Comprehend and adhere to health and safety regulations and standards.
Ensure workplace safety by following established protocols.

Problem-Solving and Adaptability:

Anticipate problems and swiftly find solutions.
Analyse situations and provide prompt resolutions to challenges.
Quickly adapt to changes and learn new skills.

Technical Competence:

Efficiently perform mechanical and electrical installations.
Supervise junior technicians and foster a collaborative team spirit.

Experience:

Experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in managing teams.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages

Education and Qualifications:

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a C grade pass in Maths and English.
Electrical Engineering Certification
Maintenance Certification
