The ages of the pupils involved will be from 7 to 18 range. You will need to support the development of pupils’ emotional literacy and social skillsthrough specific and targeted intervention. You will support pupils’ academic and social communication needs (linked to diagnosis) and to support positive social and emotional well-being, enabling them to engage in learning in and out of the school environment.You will be working under the direction/instruction of the Head of English. The Head of English will take overall responsibility for the progress of pupils within the setting but you will be required to carry out ‘specified work’ under their direction, whichmay take place in the classroom with small groups and/or delivering 1:1 learning.This role requires the ability to fulfil all aspects of Language and Literacy with confidence and fluency in English, in order to support our young people at The Wenlock School to interact effectively in the world around them, express themselves and communicateconfidently.
