Job Description

CAM Programmer£22,000- £35,000 DOEDudleyPermanentThe business function will be to use advanced Cad/Cam/MRP systems to produce production nests of parts in sheets/plates, in date order to suit the production department. Apply appropriate CAM technology to the nests/programs that fully exploit our modernmanufacturing methods. .Full training will be given to the right candidate, however experience in any of the following will be highly advantageous: -

  • Cad/Cam Nesting experience in a laser cutting environment (Lantek, Sigmanest, Radan, Tops etc.)
  • 2d cad skills using Autocad or similar.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machine tools, G/M codes etc - preferable.
  • Good understanding of steel plate/sheet specifications and grades.
  • Will be competent at reading sheet-metal type drawings, with a full understanding of the sequence of operations in order to make the part.
  • Effective communicator, both within the cad/production team and direct with potential & valued current customer base - will already have good customer care skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail in a manufacturing environment - a right 1st time, every time approach.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure, and to meet production deadlines.
  • Ability to inspect and reverse engineer parts, undertaking a quality control function.
  • A good understanding of IT, networking, file systems, office etc.
  • Health and Safety best practices in heavy engineering environment.
