In business for over a century, Smiths have anenviable reputation as quality operators winning numerous domestic and international health, safety, and environmental awards.We are looking for an experienced and conscientious Mobile Plant operator to work within our Gill Mill Quarry. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the mobile plant you are operating is running smoothly in a safe and efficient manner and thesite is tidy for operation in line with complying to both company standards and HSE Guidelines.Your duties will include: -

• Complying with Company H&S & Environmental policies, Site Rules & Quarry Regulations and legislation.
• Carry out daily Plant inspections & report all defects including filling out all necessary documentation in a timely manner. All defects are to be reported immediately to the site Supervisor/Quarry manager.
• Good communication skills are required.
• You will be responsible for keeping the quarry plant clean, fuelled, and lubricated where necessary.
• Follow work instructions to work effectively & efficiently, ensuring product quality is maintained.
• Report all incidents & near misses to the Quarry Manager. (We operate a no blame culture to promote this)
• Be flexible and assist/carry out other quarry tasks when required.

This is a permanent position and hours of work are 07:00 - 17:00 Mon-Fri, with overtime available on Saturdays and at other times to suit the business needs.What we offer:
