Job Description

Henry Boot Construction is a successful and well-established main contractor, part of the Henry Boot Group. We pride ourselves on our first-class quality of work and long-lasting relationships with our clients, and we now need a Bid Writer to join our establishedand successful team in Dronfield.Your RoleThis role is essential for the authoring and production of bids and supporting individual bid teams to maintain compliance and accuracy in tender submissions.Key Accountabilities:

  • Operate as an essential team member, working collaboratively and flexibly with Proposals Manager, Bid Coordinator and Bid Manager to create work-winning submissions;
  • Contribute to content creation in support of Win Plans and Answer Plans taking account of word limits / other limitations as identified in instructions to tender;
  • Lead on quality-oriented client deliverables, collate and refine HBC responses for submission;
  • Research, author and format responses with inputs from the boiler-plate’ library and engagements with bid team members;
  • Coordinate response inputs from HBC colleagues, professional and construction supply chain partners. Coach and assist bid team to create compelling content;
  • Ensure on-time review (including technical, peer and specialist) and sign-off is achieved on all quality-related content to accord with bid-specific authorisation levels and programme;
  • Publish client deliverables in a compliant format to achieve tender deadlines;
  • Maintain and evolve an up-to-date bid library comprising boiler plate’ and subject-led responses;
  • As required, perform as front-line on client comms on opportunity and tender management, supporting pre- construction and BD teams to monitor online portals;
  • As required, manage SQ and ITT files as complete and accurate at all times, ensuring that bid teams have access to the most up-to-date information;
  • As required, download and upload SQ and ITT information through the clients’ prescribed route. Track and manage correspondence;
  • As required, perform as the primary link between bid team and the client for document management, Tender Queries and cascade of amendments;
  • As required, identify tender deliverables and support Proposals Manager and/or Bid Manager to coordinate programme for internal and external resources to achieve prescribed deadlines;
  • Proactively contribute in start-up, mid tender and red review meetings;
  • Produce a range of bid-winning and client-facing collateral including case studies, presentations and proposal documents;
  • Contribute to the operation and future development of the Company by communicating your suggestions and providing relevant information to the Proposals Manager;
  • Provide reports to the Proposals Manager as and when requested;
  • To report on a regular basis or as necessary to the Proposals Manager highlighting business opportunities, areas of concern or uncertainty;
  • Maintain and build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers, clients, prospective clients, sub-contractors and employees.
