Job Description

Summary As the Welcome & Service Assistant, its your role to ensure that every aspect of our visitors experience is going to be a delight! We welcome enthusiastic flexible people who are willing to support one another across the whole portfolio, to ensurecover is available during holidays, training etc. Weekend working will be a regular requirement in this role. This role is an hourly paid, fixed term role. Wherever possible we strive to offer a consistent working pattern, but were looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to suit the needs of the business. Wed give youas much notice of this as possible. What its like to work here An exciting opportunity to join our vibrant team at Castle Drogo for two days a week.You willplay a core part in providing fantastic welcome and customer service. Do you enjoy meeting peopleand providing a great service Do you like history and storytelling that brings the castle and its estate to life If so - this role could be for you. Castle Drogo is situated high above the Teign Gorge. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens for self-made millionaire Julius Drewe. It looks ancient, but this remarkable building was only constructed 100 years ago, the last castle ever built in England. Fromthe beginning it has suffered from water penetration and has for the last 8 years been undergoing a conservation project to make the Castle watertight and is now fully open. Our visitor can explore the castles refreshed layout, discover its precious treasures,fascinating stories, and unique history. Outside the castle, the formal gardens, alive with colour throughout the seasons, our visitor can also explore the Teign Valley with its ancient gorge, teeming with wildlife. What youll be doing As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so youll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent serviceto all our visitors, every day. As a Welcome & Service Assistant, its your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.Youll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place youll work with the visitor welcome team to linkeverything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.Youll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property.
