Summary Are you an energetic, warm, and friendly individual who can inspire and engage with both our volunteer team and visitors Youll be helping our small team support different elements to the volunteer journey whilst inspiring our visitors, creating wonderfulmemories.Your hours will be predominantly worked over the open summer season between March and October with reduced hours over the winter period. Other than daily volunteer management and administration, youll assist with volunteer recruitment, induction and theday to day running of the site.This is a 2-year fixed term contract.The salary for this role is £15,600, this is based on 1560 annualised hours.This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. What its like to work here South Foreland Lighthouse is a striking and historical landmark on the White Cliffs. The Victorian lighthouse was built to warn mariners of shifting sands and guide them through the Strait of Dover, a place of innovation and science, the lighthouse was thefirst to display an electric light anywhere in the world.It is a stunning and unique place to work with 80+ volunteers on our books. We are passionate about caring for the lighthouse and our volunteers and visitors are at the heart of everything we do.Reporting to the Site Manager, youll work collaboratively with the team and across the wider portfolio with a hands-on approach to get the job done. You can be sure of variety, as no two days are ever the same. What youll be doing Not only will you offer a high standard of customer service, but youll also be flexible and adaptive to the daily requirements of the site. Youll need to be confident in managing different people (80+ volunteers).Youll be highly organised managing your time between the operational needs on the day, supporting the volunteers and providing administrative support.Some days youll play a part as Duty Officer to support the operation and will work flexibly across weekends and holidays.
