Job Description

Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company If so, then you could be the newest addition to ourteam as Head of Transformation – BU Channel.Be part of the movement – and play your partAbout the roleThe Head of Transformation – BU Channel will transform and optimize operations to give a strategic advantage to DFDS on the highly competitive Channel market, where millions of freight units and tourist passengers are transported every year between the UKand France. You will be assisting the business in developing digital solutions and implementation of new technology whilst maintaining a constant focus on standardisation to simplify our business processes.You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate internal resources for the flawless execution of multiple projects. Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress, whilst measuring performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verificationtechniques.
  • Lead projects with your reports on a wide variety of key strategic topics for the BU, such as operation digitalization, space charter agreement optimization, new border processes compliant with new rules being rolled out following the separation of theUK from the EU, and electric ship operations on the Channel.
  • Meet with stakeholders to take detailed project briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project. Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document needs.
  • Review and develop departmental and company processes and procedures aimed at delivering high standards of service and integrated compliance with other departments, agencies, and government bodies.

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills is essential. Strong working knowledge of MicrosoftOffice. Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification would be beneficial to the role, however not crucial.
