Our well established client in Dover are seeking a highly experienced International Transport Manager to join the team.Duties Include:Managing the Full Truck Load (FTL) Fleet Department (consisting of +100 trucks of 3rd party traction hauliers ) and the Groupage department, ensuring that the DVI operational processes, procedures and company policies are adhered to.Continuously assess staff performance and provide coaching and guidance to ensure maximum efficiency and high level of service, consistent with customer expectation, throughout the UK and Europe.Profit & Loss responsibility for both departmentsCommercial awareness of European Export and Import pricing to complete UK customer and Group tenders.Provide ad hoc pricing based on Fleet costings or using Groupage tariffs for smaller shipments.Management and monitoring of Fleet performance, providing weekly reports to Planners and Senior ManagementSupervision and control of all aspects of the daily operation for both departments, ensuring that collection and deliveries are carried out as per customers instructions.Timely and effective communication between all stakeholders (Internal and External)Using own initiative to make decisions relevant to your areas of controlHoliday and Sickness Cover to be provided for the Transport Desks, when requiredGeneral administrationCommercial representationAny other tasks, as and when requiredGeneral ResponsibilitiesPromote company values and code of conduct when engaging with all relevant stakeholdersAdhere to company rules, policies and procedures constantly and encourage others to do the sameMaintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation impacting on your role where requiredMaintain accurate and up-to-date records and ensure that confidentiality is applied where appropriateYou must have:Minimum of 3 years International Transport Management / Senior Plannerexperience of 3rd party traction operations on full loads and also part load movements throughout the UK and EUMinimum of 8 years International Planning experience with particular focus on own fleet / 3rd party traction operationsAble to communicate in another European language is desirable, but not essentialAble to compile and collate dataProven experience in a people facing roleIT literate in Microsoft Office packagesExperience of leading a team &/or working towards a Level 3 Management or equivalent qualificationSalary £45000 - £55000 per annum DOE
