We are P&O and we are going through some exciting changes. With an enviable heritage and fantastic brand recognition there has never been a better time to join us.We are currently looking for a Communications Manager to help deliver an all encompassing communications programme for our new shipbuilding programme. This is a fixed term contract until the end of 2021. P&O Ferries are investing over £250 million on two new ships to come into service within the next two years and we are looking for someone to work with the project team to create and deliver an internal and external communications that will keep stakeholders and the general public updated on important milestones.This role will cover all aspects of the communications matrix including the internal dialogue with staff and stakeholders to keep them up to date with developments. There will also be extensive work around delivering the external communications will will include both traditional and non traditional media. You will be developing the strategy alongside the programme director and implementing media briefings, marketing collateral, digital activity and act as the spokesperson for the programme.You will report to the programme director and work alongside a multi functional project team that include both technical and non technical staff. You will also have the support of the wider communications team who can provide you with the P&O expertise as and when needed. This is an incredibly ambitious project which is a part of our wider transformation programme, these new ships will spearhead the drive and innovation that P&O are working towards for our future.If you are interested in this role it is essential that you have the following skills:- Previous internal and external communications experience within a large capex programme is essential- Experience across both traditional and digital media- The ability to develop and implement a complex international communications programme- Experience of delivering technical information to a non technical audience- Fantastic written and verbal communication skills and evidence of strong copywriting- Previous experience of managing and writing for the intranet- Strong media relationship skills and a solid contact book of media contactsThese roles do not come up too often, if you are interested please click on the link below to apply.
