Job Description

If youre an Accounts Assistant seeking to develop your skills and progress in your career then we have an ideal new position for you. The company were recruiting for has a £6m turnover and youll be working as part of a friendly team of 6.Please find all the details below:Job Title: Accounts ManagerLocation: Dover, KentSalary: £30,000 - £32,500 DOEHours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm, 8:30am - 4:30pm or 9am - 5pmPurpose of the role: To take ownership of the companys full accounts process, covering everything from initial data entry to producing profit & loss reports. Reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for all accounts-related activities,including (but not limited to) processing invoices, handling queries, credit control, VAT returns, direct debits, bank reconciliation etc.Key responsibilities as the Accounts Manager:

  • Entering supplier invoices into Sage 50
  • Posting Bank transactions
  • Raising sales invoices
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Setting up new customers in Sage (carrying out credit & reference checks)
  • Credit Control in line with company payment terms
  • Producing and sending Monthly Statements to customers
  • Processing weekly Direct Debits
  • Reconciling supplier accounts to statements & processing month-end payments
  • Prepayments (Invoices and Road Taxes)
  • Accruals
  • Depreciation (Fixed Assets & Fleet Vehicles)
  • Hire Purchase Interest
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Producing Variance P&L Analysis
  • Producing weekly/monthly payroll
  • Quarterly VAT Return
  • Month end reporting
  • Liaising with outsourced accountants as and when required
  • Scheduling monthly online PAYE Payments
  • Daily cashflow spreadsheets
  • Ad hoc bank payments
  • Dealing with accounts-related queries (by telephone, email or in person)
Youll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have the following:
  • Previous recent experience within an Accounts role
  • A thorough knowledge of Sage 50 & MS Office
  • Experience of BACS & direct debit processing is also important
  • Accuracy, organisational skills, a good work ethic and a flexible attitude are the attributes our client is looking for
