Job Description

Production SupervisorUttoxeter (Home of Tyrrells premium hand-cooked vegetable crisps)As our Production Supervisor youll work as part of a team to produce Tyrrells Vegetable and Potato Crisp products safely and efficiently whilst maintaining stringent quality levels and minimising raw material and consumable waste levels.Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertake duties as specified by the Shift Manager
  • Lead the team to achieve KPIs with relation to quality, productivity, efficiency, wastage and safety
  • Be a team player, help and support members of the team(s) across all shifts
  • Be active, ensuring compliance with all aspects of company Food Safety, Health & Safety, COSHH and GMP to eliminate accidents and non-conformances
  • Take responsibility for ensuring all Quality and Hygiene requirements, practices and procedures are followed to prevent sub-standard product reaching the customer
Some of your key activities will include:The Tyrrells production facility is divided into three distinct areas: Raw material intake, Frying and Packing. Supervisors will have responsibility for either Frying room activity or Packing room activity but developing a good understanding of the processesin all areas is expected.
  • Assist the Shift Manager to achieve KPIs of quality, cost, volume, wastage, safety and employee relations
  • Coach direct reports to achieve proficiency across the range of skills required transferring knowledge and sharing best practice to develop a fully skilled production team
  • Conduct performance reviews with individual members of the team as part of the Probationary Review process with the Shift Manager
  • Take responsibility for ensuring the team adheres to all aspects of site, company, food safety and legislative Health & Safety, COSHH and hygiene requirements, practices and procedures
  • Encourage the development of a first class Health & Safety culture, actively participating in campaigns to drive improvements, reporting hazards, near misses and accidents promptly and taking appropriate measures to prevent incidents occurring
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records, particularly those relating to production, materials usage, downtime, quality control and personnel
  • Play a key part in the hygiene process, ensuring all equipment is cleaned to the appropriate standard whilst maintaining the safety of all team members
  • Liaise with the Shift Manager to ensure appropriate manning levels are maintained at all times
  • Take an active part in the selection process for new team members
  • Be responsible for new team members, assigning them buddies to guide them through the tasks required, regularly checking on their progress to help them settle into the team as swiftly and productively as possible
  • Continually seek to identify improvements
  • Encourage and develop a high performance team
