Job Description

fdus Search Practice is recruiting for a Finance Director on behalf of a well-established and profitable SME business [£10m revenue] in Dorset.With a rich heritage and strong product range within the Manufacturing sector, the business is set to continue on its positive growth trajectory.Our Client has a need for an experienced Finance Director to provide strong financial management to the business, while providing excellence in relation to key stakeholder management, commercial decision-making, and expertise in presenting financial information at a senior level.What are the key responsibilities of the role

Proactively manage and develop the Finance reporting function in anticipation of a growing business, accurately managing the annual budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, and providing tight Cash Flow, P&L, and Balance Sheet management.

To communicate with key stakeholders, both internal and external, and to interact easily with non-Finance colleagues and with employees at all levels.

Handle all Finance-related commercial activity, including supplier contracts, negotiations etc.

Evaluating systems, making recommendations and implementing improvements.

Deliver accurate and timely reporting to the Board, including insight and analysis.

Underpin all areas of the business with robust and trusted financial compliance.

Provide KPI reporting to the Board and support critical decision-making.

Support the processes of identifying, acquiring and securing new site units, having evaluated the potential contribution to the company via robust modelling.

What skills will I need to be successful

Qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive post qualification experience.

A high-quality Finance Director, with sector experience in product-based industries including Manufacturing, Retail, Wholesale, or Leisure + Hospitality etc.

Strong management skills, with the ability to lead heightened performance and delegate effectively.

Excellent attention to detail, good analytical skills, and ability to analyse numbers quickly and accurately communicate them easily to non-Finance colleagues.

Ability to roll up one’s sleeves’ and get involved in day-to-day matters and deal with constantly changing priorities as is required in an SME.

Pick up’ the business model quickly and effectively.

Display innate drive to lead the business through growth and change.

Be an excellent relationship builder.
