Job Description

Sheet Metal OperativePermanentCompetitive SalaryMon-Thu7am-3:30pm & Fri7am-12pm30 minute paid lunch break, 20 days annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays), 3% pension scheme and health plan.DorkingOur client are a growing precision engineering firm which operates Fabrication, CNC Machining and Assembly workshops. Our client employs approximately 55 people, recently expanding and moving to three new sites within Dorking, Surrey.Responsibilities

  • Use of guillotine notching machines
  • Folding using press brakes & ability to develop flat patterns.
  • Use of manual box folding and rolling equipment
  • Able to use bench drill for drilling and tapping
  • Use PEMS inserting machine
  • Part finishing including handheld grinding and polishing equipment.
  • Able to work to a high standard / tight tolerance, small batch work or one-offs.
  • Produce components to drawing specification and required quality standards
  • Maintain machines, tooling and good housekeeping at all times.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Ability:
  • Good communication skills
  • To be able to read and understand engineering drawings and procedures
  • Proficient using measuring equipment
  • Understand the importance of following process & standards
  • Must possess a positive can-do attitude.
  • Must have the ability to work without supervision
  • Must be prepared to undertake all reasonable requests as determined by the business needs
  • Strong organisational & housekeeping standards, experience of working with 5S methodology & lean tools an advantage
