Job Description

Principle AccountabilitiesResponsible for running of machines, performing after manufacturing operations and producing good quality products, packing and sorting. Organising and managing the day to day smooth running of the despatch of goods. Acting as deputy to the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager, to cover holidays and absences . The role is multi-site based (Horsham and Dorking) and covers all after manufacturing, despatch and stock within the Company.Activities, Duties and Key Tasks

  • To complete after manufacturing operations in accordance with the instructions provided by the Manager and the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) associated with the job that is running. This may include setting up of printers, drills, presses and inserters and troubleshooting problems, as requested.
  • To apply quality control requirements as directed and report problems, ensuring the SOP is updated accordingly
  • To manage the clothing requirements for the Company; manging stock levels, issuing clothing as necessary and ordering replacements; including raising purchase orders.
  • To manage the first aid supplies requirements for the Company; manging stock levels and ordering replacements; including raising purchase orders.
  • To manage the PPE supplies requirements for the Company; manging stock levels, issuing PPE as necessary and ordering replacements; including raising purchase orders.
  • Prepare the KanBan orders and invoices for Trend, Rockwell, Collins and Buciher or any other KanBan customer as identified by the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager.
  • Prepare orders as per the outstanding order book and invoice the customer accordingly.
  • Prepare the pallets or boxes for despatch.
  • Ensure materials are not wasted by yourself or by the team and that scrappage is recorded accurately and according to Company requirements.
  • Support the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager in the day to day duties of management of the team and deputise forthe After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager when absent from the business or when reasonably required.
  • Manage the after manufacturing team during working hours where the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager is not present.
  • Support the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager with booking in stock/product and moving stock to allocated areas within stock. Updating the stock levels on the iPlan system accordingly, so stock levels are accurate and maintained.
  • To support the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager with ensuring that department’s staff receive adequate training on all jobs that they work on and to ensure they are aware of the commerciality of each job and to record this training.
  • Participate and contribute to the quality of products/services to include participation in 8D investigations.
  • Controlling and ordering packing for stock/product in line with customer specification taking into account commercial and quality requirements.
  • Report back to the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager and attend meetings/participate as and when required
  • Quantity of work output must be accurate and be met in line with deadlines
  • To liaise with the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager regarding staff performance and ensure that company procedures are being followed, and monitor times, including the monitoring of lengths of breaks and absences.
  • To liaise with the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager regarding any personnel performance or training issues you or your team may have.
  • To maintain Company and accredited standards adopted by the Company
  • To ensure that good housekeeping is implemented and maintained.
  • To take responsibility for addressing poor practices either personally or by pointing them out tactfully to staff members.
  • Liaise with the Quality Engineer regarding quality control practices, ensuring quality is implemented in line with Company practice.
  • Liaise with Customers as necessary in a timely and professional manner
  • Patrol as and when required in line with SOP requirements with responsibility for quality of output
  • Ensure that parts are organised, sorting and packed in line with SOP
  • To challenge current practices as appropriate, proactively suggesting, improving and implementing changes and operating a continuous improvements practice mindset
  • Monitor and report on internal activities and provide relevant reports and information as and when required
  • Attend training as required and ensure personal development, relevant knowledge techniques, and skills are suitable and sufficient to meet the demands of the job.
  • Ensure that all health and safety standards and procedures are fully observed and adhered to.
  • To be responsible for own health and safety and to take reasonable care, commensurate with the position, for the health, safety and welfare of others within the working environment, which includes wearing, and ensuring others wear, the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • To undertake all other reasonable duties commensurate with position or if directed by the After Manufacturing, Despatch and Stock Manager or a member of the Senior Management Team.
  • To undertake any additional duties that may be asked of you by your supervisor, which may include but not be limited to setting drills and jigs, creating invoices, packing slips and delivery notes, making deliveries using the company van, locking and unlocking of gates and exits, and any other task that contributes to the smooth running of the department and company.
