Summary This position is a superb opportunity to develop your horticulture career in the National Trust. You’ll gain skills and hone existing ones whilst being supported by a community of extremely knowledgeable gardeners. What its like to work here Thegarden is 30 acres in total. There’s a magnificent Rose Garden and a kitchen garden which grows food for the onsite café. The sweeping grounds are surrounded by glorious views of the surrey Hills. Natan Cointet, the new head gardener has ambitious plans todevelop the garden. Extensive renovations of the garden are starting to take place. What youll be doing As a hands-on Gardener you’ll play an important role to develop, enhance and conserve the garden. You’ll be carrying out a range of practical tasks with hard and soft landscaping and general maintenance of the gardens, such as mulching, pruning, leaf clearing and weeding. There’s a large variety of garden features so you’ll be doing something differentevery day. You’ll be passionate and enthusiastic about plants and horticulture. You’ll also take ownership of specific areas within the garden, ensuring the highest standards are maintained and contributing to the garden’s legacy. You’ll support garden volunteers helping them make the most of their time here. You’ll be expected to interact with the public on a daily basis, answering questions and helping out with workshops and tours.
