Job Description

Our Client, a South Yorkshire Local Authority, is seeking a Childrens Social Work to join its Children with Disabilities Team.Fantastic payrate of £31 per hour (Umbrella)!Are you looking to make a difference in Childrens lives Do you have social work experience of working within childrens servicesYou will be provided with opportunities to develop your practice within this area of work. This is an exciting time to join the service which works alongside a range of professionals including SEND, SNIPS, Health services, Pathway to adulthood team and CAMHS!Responsibilities of this role:

  • Secure good outcomes for children and young people in need. Ensure that they are safe and supported to achieve their full potential, as supported by the Senior Fieldwork Manager and at times the Advanced Social Work Practitioner.
  • Support children and families in transition, including children and young people moving to and between placements, returning home, being adopted or moving to independence.
  • Make realistic, evidence-based, child centred plans within a review timeline, which will manage and reduce identified risks and meet the needs of the child.
  • Work as an autonomous professional, exercising sound judgement using practice standards and established procedures. Recognise when to seek advice from other professionals to strengthen practice decisions.
  • Work with children and young people subject to Child Protection Plans, Care proceedings and Children Looked After.
Requirements of this role:
  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must be a Level 2 Social Worker, with experience of working with Children & Families Services.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Childrens Act 1989 and other relevant legislation including General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
