REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company who are growing at a rapid pace.Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will be the contact point for team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. To ensure that all operational processes are fully compliant with health and safety policies and procedures and take responsibilityfor delegating and supervising the workflow. Identify and understand risks and escalate accordingly and be an active participant in the promotion of a teamwork ethic and lead by example.Develop positive relationships with all members of the Company Team and ensure that morale levels on the shift are monitored and a culture which is enjoyable and rewarding to work in is developed. Be flexible in approach and in the duties which you performso that urgent and important tasks are completed in line with the needs of the business.Key Accountabilities:

• Hold regular team meetings to communicate achievements, prioritise activity and resolve issues that are affecting the team of the department.
• To ensure and maintain the organisation of all activities concerning staff, manufacturing, and production of our products.
• Ensure manpower is utilised to ensure optimum delivery of the production plan. and the utilisation of available labour.
• Ensure that all team queries including those relating to HR, Training, administration, and organisation issues are resolved appropriately.
• Always maintain a safe working environment.
• Understand Company policies and how these should be interpreted and implemented.
• Ensure the agreed performance standards set by the Shift Manager are adhered to and maintained.
• Strive to achieve maximum possible O.E.E. figures at all times.
• Undertake performance reviews twice a year with each member of staff to maintain high standards and staff motivation.
• Effectively manage and review the workload of the team through setting targets and measuring performance. Incorporate training, development, and coaching, where appropriate.

Key Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

• Demonstrable ability to effectively lead and develop high performing teams.
• Clear Communicator and strong performance focus.
• Experience to manage all the departmental resources to guarantee it is utilised in the most effective manner.
• Understand the planning and product priorities process.
• Knowledge of product range to guarantee that products selected for packing is to the correct, visual, and dimensional quality as defined on product internal specification information.
• Knowledge of product labelling process to guarantee the correct labels are attach to appropriate product / stillage.
• Knowledge of breakdown fault finding and rectification process.
• Experience of the transfer of data onto relevant systems (ERP etc) . The data to be recorded is production booking, downtime, scrap, and quality checks.
• Ability to coach and motive team members.
• Previous experience of working under pressure to ensure deadlines are met is a necessity in this role.
• Thorough product knowledge is also desirable commitment and drive, reliability, and a positive work ethic.

Working hours: Continental shift pattern, 3 days on 3 days off, days & nights, an average of 42 hours per week.
