Job Description

CAMHS Nurse Band 518.75 hrs per week flexible to meet the needs of the service may include evening and weekend work when requiredDo you want to be part of an innovative and dynamic CAMHS team as a qualified CAMHS nurse – either with experience or a preceptee - you will ensure young people with mental health conditions receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promote good teamwork. Within the team, there is a strong ethos of working together with a shared passion of supporting young people to live safe and fulfilling lives.The successful candidate will join a team providing timely access to specialist services for children and young people that present in crisis or who present a significant and immediate risk to themselves and /or others, and outreach to those that are difficult to engage, providing intensive support where required to meet identified need contributing to the prevention of admission to inpatient provision and also the facilitation of timely discharge from inpatient provision.The successful candidate needs to have experience of providing Risk Management Plans for young people who are experiencing a wide variety of mental health disorders/illnesses or difficulties that are impacting on their life that present in a Mental Health Crisis during in and out of hours to the service. CAMHS is part of the CYP-IAPT initiative and the post holder will use Routine Outcome Measures to influence and evaluate all interventions offered.Doncaster CAMHS offers a high level of supervision and development for our staff.You will have:-

  • A high level of enthusiasm and dedication to providing quality, community based mental health services to children, young people and their families
  • Access to transport or have the ability to travel to a variety of venues as part of the working day
  • Experience in undertaking Mental Health Assessments, providing interventions & formulations to address the needs of the client group
  • Experience of working under pressure and in a demanding environment
  • To have the skill to adapt and the flexibility to think on your feet due to the nature of your role
