Job Description

A vital Social Worker / AMHP position is now available with Doncaster Council on a permanent contract.This role includes a 2.5k welcome payment and additional retention payment after 12-months in post.What is the roleDoncaster Council are now looking to appoint an experienced Social Worker / AMHP to undertake the supervision, management, and appraisal of Assessment Officers within the Councils Sec 117 Reviewing Team.In this role you will take responsibility for face-to-face Sec 117 MHA reviews and contribute to the overall request or decision on eligibility for continuing funding.How will you do this

  • Lead investigations for the most complex, high-profile cases, involving Sec 117 funding and review.
  • Ensure clear links and partnerships between Commissionaires and Social Care and Mental Health professionals.
  • Utilise experience from case work to develop plans for targets and areas of improvement regarding Sec 117 MHA.
  • Support the wider team with specialist advice and provide effective leadership to assigned Assessment Officers.
What experience do you need
  • Significant experience of working as a Social Worker or Approved Mental Health Practitioner within Adult Mental Health settings.
  • Ability to undertake assessment of needs for individuals who have complex health and social care needs.
  • A background in assisting service users access direct payments and individualised budgets, as well as experience assessing eligibility for funding.
