UK&I Tax Manager

Job Description

Our client is a global listed business based in Diss. Due to the increased growth in the region and recent UK acquisitions, they have an exciting opportunity for a new UK&I Tax Manager.They are looking for someone technical who can be the main point of contact for all UK&I tax matters across the region. The right candidate will need to be able to demonstrate problem solving skills to assist with wider projects and understand key driversfor the business and be comfortable delivering presentations and workshops to staff at all levels within the UK entities.This role will require the candidate to demonstrate critical thinking to understand current processes and implement new efficient procedures, whilst maintaining close relationships with all the key teams in the Group.Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing tax advice and support to the finance and commercial teams
  • Managing UK&I corporation tax provisions and filing processes
  • Ensure UK&I companies are compliant with current tax legislation (including integrating new acquisitions to follow tax processes)
  • Support the M&A team and tax advisors on future UK&I acquisitions from a tax and structure perspective
  • Ensure all VAT and Customs declarations on behalf of UK&I companies are accurate
  • Ensure staff are trained in VAT, customs, and legal implications of international trade and
  • Ensure tax risks are identified, managed and actions are carried out to minimise any tax risks
  • Work closely with commercial teams and other Group companies to streamline multinational sales projects
The role is varied, covering all taxes with a strong focus on VAT and customs duty (previous experience in these items is desirable but not essential). This will also include involvement in wider advisory projects in respect of Group structuring and potentialM&A. Suitable training will be provided if further expertise is required. The right candidate will need to be innovative, show forward thinking and the ability to push forward various projects.To be successful in this role, the right candidate will need to confidently communicate the key tax requirements to teams across the region and emphasise their importance to the Group.It is essential to hold a full UK driving license and be comfortable in driving to the UK companies as this role will be working closely with each of the companies in the region.Please note, full-time remote working is not available for this role. We offer a flexible hybrid working from home opportunity available once the probationary period has been successfully completed. Our hybrid working approach allows employees to work threedays from the office and two days from home if they wish to do so.
