Job Description

Housing Support WorkerJob Type: Full Time, permanentLocation: Diss, South Norfolk/BrecklandWorking Hours: Monday to Friday (with a rota for on-call duties and some scope for flexible working.)Salary: £20,412 per yearCompany Benefits:

Solo Housing provides housing management and support services to over ninety residents living in East Anglia. The supported housing provision ranges from hostel accommodation to shared and self-contained flats provided for both men and women whorequire support. They may be ex-offenders or have other problems such as substance misuse ormental health issues. They are referred mainly by the local authorities with whom we work. The RoleHousing Support WorkerThe successful applicant will work with our residents either in the hostel, or in their homes, in the Diss, South Norfolk and Breckland community, as well as from home and our offices in Diss. You will be positively representing Solo Housing in the communitywhilst supporting Solo Housing residents live independently and to pursue positive involvement in their communities.Main ResponsibilitiesHousing Support WorkerDuties to include but not limited to:
  • Interview and assess perspective residents for Solo Housing accommodation
  • Provide a holistic person led support to help Solo Housing residents to sustain a tenancy and achieve greater independence
  • Complete all required paperwork
  • Maintain comprehensive electronic information records on the support plans, tenancy agreements and housing management records
  • Collect the rent, service charges and other monies owed to Solo Housing
  • To support and assist Solo Housing residents to move in a positive and planned way
  • Participate in an emergency callout rota with the rest of the support team
  • Support and assist residents to move into more permanent accommodation when they are ready to live more independently
RequirementsHousing Support Worker
  • A full driving licence and the use of a car for work purposes is essential
  • Ability to work in a team
  • To work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Experience of working with mental health issues and supporting those with addictions
  • Awareness and / or experience of person led support
  • Awareness and / or experience of delivering a housing management service
  • Able to maintain comprehensive records and support plans on various IT packages including Microsoft Word and Excel
