BRC Food Technical Manager

Job Description

Our client is a major supplier to the food chain with an impressive product range and inspirational product development.Due to our significant growth, we are looking for someone to lead the food technical function and ensure that the company maintains our BRCGS accreditation. Reporting to the Head of Technical, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day technicalaspects of the production facility and leading the technical team.Your main responsibilities include:

  • Being the primary technical contact for all customers, suppliers, government-led and 3rd party relationships including certifications and accreditations.
  • Ensuring the safety, quality, and legality of all products manufactured on-site.
  • Managing the companys Quality Management System, including HACCP.
  • Managing the Quality Assurance team.
  • Ensuring that systems are in place to meet current the BRCGS standard, as well as the accreditation bodies, customer, and legal requirements.
  • Managing customer specifications and product information portals and requests.
  • Ensuring that finished product specifications are available and up-to-date for all products.
  • Supplier and raw material risk assessment and approval, performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Hosting customer, EHO, TSO and 3rd party audits and visits as required.
  • Owning HACCP and QMS, ensuring appropriate review mechanisms and suitable document control.
  • Ensuring that microbiological testing schedules are in place and met to maintain the companys due diligence.
  • Building and maintaining a strong and effective relationship with the production team and support where required.
  • Participating in regular meetings between technical and production teams.
  • Ensuring that NPD and recipe approval processes are followed accordingly for all new products.
  • Leading senior management meetings on site.
