Job Description

Position : Operations ManagerLocation : South Yorkshire. The site is located less than a mile from the M1 and is so commutable from Wakefield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham and surrounding areasSector : ManufacturingSalary : £50,000-£55,000 plus benefits packageAbout the Position :

  • Medium - high volume manufacturing facility
  • 24 / 7 operation
  • Overall team of c 40 people
  • Highly automated
  • Very good H & S record
  • Working Monday to Friday days but available on the phone out of hours if major problems occur
About You :
  • Holds a formal qualification in engineering, manufacturing or similar
  • Proven experience of working as a Production Manager / Operations Manager in a manufacturing environment
  • People focused with excellent communication skills
  • IOSH or NEBOSH preferred
  • Used to working with modern ERP and MRP systems
  • Experience of plastic injection moulding beneficial but not essential
  • Confident
  • A good listener but able to hold authority
  • Consistent
  • Experience of training and developing operatives and shift leaders
  • Experience of working to ISO 9000 essential. Experience of other standrds beneficial TS 16949, AS9100, BRC etc
  • Car owner / driver due to lack of public transport to the area
  • Able to work to metrics such as
    • OTIF
    • OEE
    • Capacity
    • Right first time
    • Cost management
