Are you a secondary teaching assistant looking for a new role in the Oldham countrysideI am currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed teaching assistant for a secondary school on the Oldham/ Huddersfield border.This is a full-time secondary teaching assistant role from as soon as possible on an ongoing temporary basis.The RoleTeaching Assistant supporting teaching and learning in a secondary schoolFive days a weekThe role will vary depending on the needs of individual students but will likely include -Supporting teenagers with literacy and numeracy and general subject knowledgeSupporting teenagers with additional needs such as autism or Aspergers or ASDSupporting teenagers with moderate learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculaSupporting teenagers with social, emotional and behavioural difficultiesSupporting teenagers with mental health needs and anxietyTeaching assistant qualifications would be beneficialExperience of working with teenagers in a youth work setting or as part of extracurricular activities such as sports clubs or religious groups would be beneficialThe School11-16 academy on the Oldham / Kirklees borderOfsted Good since 2015"Students with special educational needs benefit from well-organised support within school. • a minimum of six weeks experience of working with teenagers aged 11-16 supported by references
• This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
• Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
• Have the legal right to work full time in the UK
• Bachelors degree or teaching assistant qualifications
